What is GFIA?

The Gibraltar Funds & Investment Association (“GFIA”) was formed in 1996 under the original name of the Gibraltar Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Managers (“GASIM”). GASIM was renamed GFIA in 2009 when it decided to include and emphasise Funds in its focus.

GFIA members now include Stockbrokers, Law Firms, Banks, Investment Managers, Audit Firms, Funds, Fund Administrators and other professionals who are involved in Gibraltar’s fast growing investment and fund industry.

The Gibraltar Fund industry has grown significantly with the introduction of the Financial Services (Experienced Investor Funds) Regulations 2005 which allow for the quick and efficient establishment of a professional fund for investment by “experienced investors”.
